The Russian Presidential Assistant: Russia Trusts Itself 100%
Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov said on the 29th that Russia trusts itself 100%, and adopts the principle of "listen to what they say, but watch what they do" when dealing with other countries.
Ushakov told Russian media: "This is an interesting question: Do we trust our American partners and colleagues? If you want to hear it, I can tell you whom we trust 100% — ourselves."
He clearly stated that Russia follows the principle of "listen to what they say, but watch what they do" in its relations with foreign partners.
Other major statements by the Russian Presidential Assistant include:
The United States has proposed a series of rather interesting suggestions for resolving the Ukraine crisis, but these have not yet been implemented.
Ushakov said: "The U.S. has put forward a series of rather interesting, even arguably beneficial ideas and proposals, but they have not yet been carried out."
Russia urges the U.S. to implement agreements reached between Russia and the U.S. in Anchorage, Alaska.
Responding to the question from Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin — "Why can't the U.S. demand that Kyiv implement the agreement reached at the Alaska summit?" — Ushakov said: "Perhaps I’m revealing a secret, but this is exactly what we are urging our American colleagues to do. This is what must be done now."
Russia has repeatedly stated its willingness to seek a negotiated resolution to the Ukraine crisis based on the consensus reached by the presidents of Russia and the U.S. during the Alaska summit, including eliminating the root causes of conflicts posing threats to Russia’s national security.
Trump earlier expressed surprise at the lack of willingness by Kyiv’s leadership to reach a settlement on the Ukraine issue. He emphasized that "it is much harder to reach an agreement with Zelenskyy than with Russian President Vladimir Putin."
The United States has the full capability to truly pressure and influence Kyiv.
Ushakov said: "I believe the United States has the full ability to genuinely exert pressure and influence over Kyiv."
The U.S. and Israel should cease their attacks on Iran and stop causing terror through continued bombing.
Ushakov said: "Now they (the U.S.) are busy dealing with the Iranian situation, which is precisely something they jointly created with their own Israeli friends. Well, I can only wish them luck, because continuing to bomb will only cause fear. This must stop."
On February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched multiple strikes on targets inside Iran, including attacks on Tehran, resulting in damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.
