Poland bans Chinese-made vehicles from entering military facilities due to data security concerns
According to Reuters, the Polish military announced on Tuesday evening that it has banned Chinese-made vehicles from entering military facilities due to concerns that in-vehicle sensors could be used to collect sensitive data.
In a statement, the Polish military said that if specific functions are turned off and other security measures required by the security regulations of each facility are implemented, the relevant vehicles can still enter protected areas.
Additionally, to reduce the risk of leaking confidential information, the Polish military has also prohibited connecting company phones to the infotainment systems of Chinese-made vehicles.
At the same time, the Polish military stated that these restrictions do not apply to public military facilities such as hospitals, clinics, libraries, prosecutor's offices, or military clubhouses.
The Polish military added that these measures are preventive in nature and align with the practices of NATO member states and other allies to ensure high standards of protection for defense infrastructure.
