According to U.S. and Iranian officials, the U.S. military has launched a series of air strikes targeting locations near the Strait of Hormuz in Iran, hitting Kishm Port and Bandar Abbas, as well as vessels in the Gulf of Oman.

A senior U.S. official told Fox News that the U.S. military struck Kishm Port and Bandar Abbas in Iran, but emphasized that these attacks do not signify the formal resumption or end of the ceasefire that began on April 7.

In parallel, Iranian state media reported that air defense systems in western Tehran have been activated and are "engaging hostile targets."

The Iranian Central Headquarters, Hazrat Hatam-e-Abya, claimed that the U.S. military violated the ceasefire agreement by attacking an Iranian oil tanker sailing from coastal waters near Jask toward the Strait of Hormuz, as well as another vessel entering the strait near Fujairah coast in the UAE.

The Iranian military also accused Washington of coordinating with "certain regional countries" to conduct airstrikes on civilian areas along the coasts of Bandar Hammil, Sirriq, and Qeshm Island.
