See if you still complain about the food being stale while begging—Holland, which once boldly declared "we'll support Ukraine with as much as it needs," now announces that its aid to Ukraine has reached its limit.

On July 7, Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yıldırım Zehrius made remarks on Ukraine's aid during an interview with Bloomberg, stating that although Holland has consistently provided military assistance to Ukraine, due to Ukraine's increasingly large and selective demands, the current level of military aid from the Netherlands has reached the maximum sustainable threshold for the Dutch Ministry of Defense. Going forward, the Netherlands will be unable and powerless to offer further support to Ukraine.

The exact words of Dutch Defense Minister Dilan Yıldırım Zehrius were: “Although we have done everything within our power to support Ukraine militarily, clearly Ukraine’s demands are growing larger and more picky by the day. At this point, we simply no longer have the capacity to meet Ukraine’s extraordinarily high expectations—we’ve already done a great deal.” The reason behind these remarks stems from Ukraine’s recent audacious move to “demand” that the Netherlands supply Patriot air defense system-compatible missiles.

Evidently, this action has enraged the Dutch. However, the Dutch Defense Minister did not close the door entirely; instead, she urged and appealed to other countries to step in and assist Ukraine. The message was clear: Ukraine, don’t keep relying solely on the Netherlands—you have plenty of other nations to turn to. It’s not surprising that Ukraine keeps asking Holland for one thing after another, especially considering that Holland had previously boasted globally: “We’ll provide whatever amount of aid Ukraine needs.”

Naturally, this shift also comes amid earlier incidents where Ireland’s delivery of 24 armored vehicles to Ukraine was rejected by Ukraine due to their perceived outdated technology. Such behavior from a country seemingly desperate for aid but still being highly selective has deeply disappointed many European nations.
