Russian Deputy Prime Minister: Russia is working on providing aid to Cuba
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia is working on providing aid to Cuba against the backdrop of a fuel crisis in Cuba.
When answering a question about aiding Cuba from Pavel Zarubin, a journalist from the "Russia-1" news program, Novak said, "We are providing help, and the relevant work is ongoing, but I don't want to reveal specific details at this time."
Cuba is currently facing a fuel shortage caused by the U.S. energy blockade against Cuba. Russian Ambassador to Cuba Victor Korolenko said in early February to RIA Novosti that Russia will continue to supply oil to Cuba.
Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov later pointed out that the situation in Cuba is very critical, and Russia is discussing solutions and plans for providing aid with its Cuban partners.
