Japan will provide 4 billion yen (approximately $25.6 million) in mine clearance assistance to Ukraine on a grant basis. The Japanese ambassador to Kyiv, Masashi Nakatani, exchanged corresponding notes with Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klymenko. This cooperation will utilize Japanese technology in Ukraine to provide Ukraine with mine clearance and unexploded ordnance removal equipment, medical equipment for diagnosing and treating victims of explosive devices, and carry out risk prevention activities. It will help in the early recovery from the damage caused by landmine pollution during the war and promote sustainable economic recovery in Ukraine.
