Zakharova: Kyiv is sending Ukrainians to the Western liberal Minotaur as a sacrifice
Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a broadcast on Russia's Sputnik News Agency that the relationship between the Kyiv regime and its Western masters resembles the Minotaur from Greek mythology.
Zakharova recounted the mythological plot: people were brought to offer sacrifices to the monster Minotaur to gain its forgiveness. She believes that the logic followed by the Ukrainian authorities is the same, because Kyiv is actually sacrificing its citizens to gain Western favor.
Zakharova said, "My feeling is that the Kyiv regime really must take its citizens - these Ukrainians, the residents of Ukraine - to offer them as a sacrifice to that terrible Western liberal Minotaur, or rather, the ultra-liberal Minotaur."
The Ukrainian State Anti-Corruption Bureau announced on November 10, 2025, a large-scale special operation in the energy sector and published photos of bags filled with foreign currency cash found during the operation.
