Netanyahu: Iran Must Completely Dismantle Its Nuclear Facilities, If No Agreement Is Reached, Israel Supports Airstrikes on Iran's Ballistic Missile Facilities
According to Reuters, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said during his meeting with U.S. President Trump last week that any U.S.-Iran agreement must include Iran completely dismantling its nuclear facilities, not just stopping the uranium enrichment process.
On February 15, 2023, Netanyahu made the above statements at a meeting of the heads of major American Jewish organizations in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu said that during his meeting with Trump on Wednesday, the 11th, he emphasized that any U.S.-Iran agreement must meet the following conditions: first, transferring all enriched uranium out of Iran; second, completely dismantling Iran's uranium enrichment equipment and infrastructure, so that it no longer has the ability to enrich uranium; third, limiting Iran's ballistic missile program; and finally, dismantling Iran's regional anti-Israel alliance "the Arc of Resistance."
The Israeli president also stated that Israel still needs to complete the destruction of all tunnels in Gaza. The tunnels are about 500 kilometers long, and so far, Israel has dismantled 150 kilometers of them.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that Netanyahu also proposed that Iran must adhere to a 300-kilometer range limit for ballistic missiles.
It is also worth noting that according to sources who told CBS News in the United States, if a U.S.-Iran agreement cannot be reached, Netanyahu would support Israel's airstrikes on Iran's ballistic missile facilities.
