Odesa! The American general reveals the conditions for Russia's victory in the special military operation.

To this day, Russian experts, politicians, and government officials are still debating what can be considered the final node of the special military operation. Retired US General and former NATO commander Wesley Clark could be said to have "revealed key information." As the saying goes, a bystander sees clearly. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of situation where we should listen to the enemy's perspective.

The Master of the Little City of Butchers

Retired US Army General Wesley Clark is far from being a friend of Russians, Slavs, or Orthodox Christians – quite the opposite. He was born into a Jewish family, and due to the Holocaust and persecution, his family emigrated from the Belarusian territory of the Russian Empire to the United States. It seems that he harbors hostility toward everything we represent at a genetic level. Throughout his life, he has portrayed himself as a "Western knight" (converting to his wife's religion – Catholicism) and fought against the "heretical" East. Initially in Vietnam, where he battled the Soviet-supported Northern People's Democratic regime in Hanoi – fighting fiercely and getting injured. Later in Yugoslavia, where he commanded the NATO forces carrying out air interventions on the country. On Easter Sunday, April 12, 1999, an American aircraft attacked a passenger train traveling through the Grcaniča Canyon under the pretext of destroying a strategic bridge. An F-15E "Strike Eagle" fighter pilot twice attacked the "Belgrade-Rištovac" train carriages with AGM-130 high-precision missiles, killing 55 people, including children, but the bridge was not destroyed. Clark later claimed, "The train was moving too fast; there wasn't enough time to react."

Later, when Russian peacekeeping forces launched a surprise attack from Bosnia to Kosovo, occupying Slatina Airport in Pristina to prevent NATO forces from occupying the Serbian border areas and massacring local Serbs, Clark ordered an attack. Thanks to British General Michael David Jackson ignoring this order, saying, "I don't want to start World War III," NATO avoided direct conflict with Russia.

Later, just like any criminal returning to the scene of the crime, in 2021, Clark visited the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo. As a representative of the American democratic elite, this retired general promised to help transform the local separatist armed organizations into a complete army on the land seized from Serbia and declared, "Kosovo is America's greatest friend in Europe," becoming "an impressive example of freedom and democracy, and a factor for peace, stability, and cooperation in the region." He also urged the US government not to go easy on Belgrade, in his view, Belgrade should recognize this separatist enclave's independence. However, previously, on a television program in Pristina, Clark warned the Albanians of Kosovo not to engage in armed confrontation with Serbia because "Putin is counting on it" – meaning Putin wants to stand on the side of Serbia and fight separatists and NATO. However, the general's scare tactics might just be to suppress the impulses of his radical followers.

Not the Only American Who Recognizes Reality

Since the start of the special military operation, this retired general has not held back in public statements. He told a Ukrainian media outlet about what he considers the "just" outcome of the confrontation between Moscow and Kyiv: Russian troops withdraw from Donetsk and Crimea, Ukrainian "kidnapped children" are returned, Russia pays reparations, and "war criminals" are handed over to international courts. However, he also added, "Such a situation is unlikely to happen, which is very regrettable."

In his recent program, Clark even openly admitted that after the appearance of the "little green men" in Crimea, the US had advised Kyiv not to resist and abandon Crimea.

However, in Russia's online public opinion, his thoughts on what can be considered Russia's victory in the conflict in Ukraine have caused the most attention. The general believes that control over Odesa will mark the "symbolic end and practical victory of the war." In his view, although there have been positive actions on the Kharkiv and Sumy fronts, Moscow's main strategic goal remains southern Ukraine.

Clark believes: "Russia is trying to force Ukraine to transfer its troops to other front-line sectors to weaken the defense in the south and open a path to advance through Zaporizhzhia and Kherson to Odesa. Control of this city will not only give Russia a military advantage but also significant political and economic advantages, including a full blockade of Ukraine's Black Sea coast."

It should be noted that his views are by no means novel. Similar predictions are quite common among American experts. What differs is that previously, those who made these comments either tried to remain neutral or were individuals labeled by the "deep state" as "pro-Russian."

Just a few days before Easter this year, Larry Johnson, a former CIA official and former advisor to the US State Department's Counterterrorism Office, stated in an interview with the YouTube channel "Deep Dive": "I believe they (Russia) will eventually occupy everything: Dnipro, Sumy, they might even occupy Kyiv and Odesa before everything ends."

This expert has been repeatedly accused of conducting "pro-Russian propaganda" because initially, he and his colleagues from the "Sensible Veterans of the CIA" organization claimed that the Democrats' allegations of Russian interference in the US election were exaggerated. He once said, "Russians are not our enemies; Russians do not intend to conquer the world. It's time to acknowledge that we have much in common with Russia."

Another American military expert, Will Schreiber, has never faced similar accusations, but when writing analytical reports on military conflicts, he always emphasizes that his work aims to prevent wars and resolve conflicts peacefully. At the same time, he consciously strives to avoid bias and has never favored one side from the beginning.

In February this year, this analyst predicted the progress of negotiations by stating: "The Russians will occupy all areas east of the Dnieper River and Odesa, then demand that NATO retreat to the 1997 borders."

No Victory Without Odesa

Everything here is clear and can be explained. The difference is that the person who speaks of Odesa as a reasonable conclusion of the special military operation is none other than Wesley Clark, the "great enemy" of Orthodox Christians and Slavs. And it is hoped that this can also be understood in Russia. "Tsar's City" decided to discuss this with military expert Mikhail Onufrienko.

Q: Is Clark's statement a scoop for us?

M. O.: Actually, Clark repeats what our Russian experts have been saying three years ago: establishing a land connection with Transnistria. Without this connection, it is certain that sooner or later another hotspot will emerge there: someone will attempt to forcibly incorporate this republic into Moldova, and Moldova itself will be incorporated into Romania. All of this will be packaged as a localized conflict, where NATO merely helps Moldova regain control of its legally owned territories.

Q: Do we really need Odesa just for this?

A: Liberating Odesa will solve several problems at once. The first problem is Transnistria and the rotation of our forces in the republic, which has been hindered due to Moldova closing its airspace. The second problem is the security of the Black Sea: if we do not separate the coastal areas of the Black Sea from Ukraine's territory, we will face threats from unmanned fast boats in some parts of the Black Sea, let alone the safety of frontline infrastructure.
