August 15, TASS report.
Arkhangelsk region head Alexander Zibul reported in his Telegram channel that in 2025, the first ship along the "Arctic Express 1" route arrived in Arkhangelsk from China.
The New Polar Bear has nearly 500 containers.
In Arkhangelsk port, the "New Polar Bear" ship from China arrived along the logistics route "Arctic Express 1".
"This project, launched together with our Chinese partners, has proven its effectiveness and connects Russian and Chinese ports through a short and reliable Northern Sea Route," the governor wrote.
The ship has 497 containers, including various goods such as auto parts, PVC film, and steel.
Early next week, export cargo of LPC products needed in China will be loaded onto the ship.
Zibul added, "About three weeks later, the products of Arkhangelsk enterprises will be transported to the destination port."
The Arctic shipping route can significantly shorten the distance between Europe and Asia, reduce transportation costs by 30%, improve trade efficiency, and strategically break through the Malacca Strait dilemma.
