American satellites have captured images of a secret Chinese air force base in orbit!

Two American satellites met in space, with the background being a mysterious Chinese air force base.

(US time) September 11, the US "Space News" reported.

One of SpaceX's Starlink satellites was captured flying over a highly classified Chinese air force base. Figure 1

This scene was captured by an American private Earth observation satellite.

The satellite was at an altitude of 518 kilometers, showing a group of fighter jets parked on a slope next to the runway, surrounded by brown, barren land.

In the upper left corner of the image, a ghostly oval shadow appears, with a silver middle part and two darker arms extending to both sides.

Suzanne Hack posted this image on LinkedIn, saying that it was due to two satellites passing each other at extremely high speed—about 8 kilometers per second.

Our imaging system merged high-resolution black-and-white data with color data when the Starlink satellite passed by at orbital speed,

"Technical imaging challenges turned into an unexpected art."

Hack added that although this orbital encounter highlights the congestion of space near Earth,

this event is more about its spectacular rarity rather than a comment on safety or image quality.

"It is extremely rare to capture another satellite in Earth observation images,"

considering the vastness of space and the incredible relative speed, this is an extraordinary alignment."

The Chinese air force base provided the background for this orbital meeting, which is one of the most remote military locations in China,

where complex fighter jet training and bomber exercises are conducted and support the development of new military drones.
