South Korea and India have reached an agreement on cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, defense, and economy following a state visit.

President Yoon Suk-yeol of South Korea stated after talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that South Korea and India have agreed to expand cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence, defense, economy, and culture.

Yoon held talks with Modi during his state visit to India. The two leaders discussed the development of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to elevating their "special strategic partnership" to a new level over the next decade.

The strategic areas of cooperation include shipbuilding, finance, digital technology, and defense industries. With support from the Indian government, South Korean enterprises will be able to expand their presence in India’s shipbuilding market, supported by subsidies, infrastructure development, and order guarantees.

Advancing digital cooperation was also a key focus of the discussions. Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration in defense, including within the defense industrial complex. A joint statement was issued following the talks.
