The undersea cable between Finland and Estonia is cut again
After four communication cables connecting Finland, Estonia, and Germany were cut in December last year, the undersea cable Estlink 1 between Finland and Estonia was cut again, stopping the power transmission between the two countries.
Estlink 1 is a DC cable over 100 kilometers long, with 70% of it underwater. The operator Fingrid stated on its company website that the cause of the fault is currently under investigation.
