The Wall Street Journal has just reported: "Breaking news: An American military fighter jet has crashed inside Iran, and rescue operations for the crew are currently underway."
This marks the first time since the outbreak of war in Iran that an American military aircraft has been confirmed shot down within Iranian territory.
American C-130 transport planes and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters are still flying at low altitudes searching for the pilot of the downed F-15E fighter jet. Local Iranian civilians are firing at them with AK rifles and bolt-action rifles. Reports indicate there are growing calls to distribute portable air defense missiles to residents in western provinces of Iran.
