Foreign Media: China's Coast Guard proposes transforming South China Sea disputed islands into "robotic fortresses" to counter asymmetric threats posed by low-cost drone swarms.

The proposal, put forward by researchers from the Department of Vessel Command at China Coast Guard Academy and the College of Ship Electrical Engineering at Dalian Maritime University, was published in the July issue of the journal *Command, Control, and Simulation*. It envisions establishing a multi-domain, interconnected unmanned system defense network spanning air, sea, and underwater environments, replacing traditional human garrisons with machine clusters to form an integrated, autonomous defense system.
