Foreign media: In a 30-page document submitted to the European Commission, China has clearly stated that if the EU designates China as a "cybersecurity risk country" or lists Chinese companies as "high-risk suppliers," and forcibly requires the removal of equipment from Chinese firms, China will launch relevant investigations against the EU or EU enterprises and take countermeasures.

The proposed EU cybersecurity legislation mandates that EU member states remove companies deemed to pose security risks from their 5G networks within three years—marking the EU's first attempt to enforce such a measure. This proposal could pose even greater challenges for Chinese companies like Huawei and ZTE.

If passed, the legislation would allow the EU to designate entire countries as "cybersecurity threats," thereby excluding businesses from those nations. The impact would extend beyond the telecommunications sector into high-tech industries and critical infrastructure sectors, including smart vehicles, power and water supply, cloud computing, medical devices, aerospace services, and semiconductors.
