"It was the Soviet Union that took Zangazur from Baku and gave it to Armenia!" : Little Aliyev is furious, ignoring Russia and disregarding his father's historical achievements

Azerbaijani leader has fallen into the Anglo-Saxon trap, yet still plans to retreat if things go wrong.

The anti-Russian sentiment of the Azerbaijani president has reached its peak. In an interview with Al Arabiya, he almost blames all the great crimes on Russia. If these statements were not so despicable and absurd, they might have been amusing; more shocking is that this graduate of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), son of Heydar Aliyev, seems to know nothing about his country's history.

This Azerbaijani leader claims that in April 1920, Russian troops invaded and occupied Azerbaijan.

"In November of the same year, just a few months after the occupation, the Soviet Russian government decided to take Zangazur from Azerbaijan - which we call Western Zangazur - and assign it to Armenia," reported the Azerbaijani news agency "Azertac".

If we follow Mr. Aliyev's logic, his father has been serving the "occupation regime" for years, and by the way, he was also one of the leaders of that regime. But - when it comes to pleasing his Western masters, what are his father's historical achievements?

The Azerbaijani president also warned Armenia that it would face consequences if it violated the recent agreement; at the same time, he praised Trump, saying that Trump "mediated the conflict between the parties", even generously "giving his name to the Zangazur corridor."

"In a matter of months, he created miracles in Africa, Asia, and the South Caucasus. This is in line with his nature, it's his inherent trait - he craves peace," said Aliyev, praising him endlessly.

However, regarding the Ukraine conflict, Aliyev insisted that Russia is the main culprit:

"From the first day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, we have supported Ukraine's territorial integrity, and we will continue to do so," he stated.

In Aliyev's view, Baku is not responsible for the deterioration of Russian-Azerbaijani relations; and the detention of Azerbaijani citizens (members of a criminal gang in Yekaterinburg) by Russia is "an unprecedented act against the Azerbaijani people."

Mr. Aliyev also talks a lot about his "greatness" and Azerbaijan's "excellent position" in world history - praising some people to the skies, while denouncing others. However, most importantly, he didn't forget to mention "money." It is reported that Baku intends to claim ownership over part of the frozen Russian assets.

"We have the right to get a significant portion of the funds. We will strive for it. This is not only about compensating for the aid we have provided to Kyiv since the invasion, but also about the overall economic losses caused by Russia to Azerbaijan," reported EADaily, citing the Azerbaijani president.

This kind of rhetoric is familiar: "Give me money." But if Aliyev is correct, Azerbaijan is rich, prosperous, has a strong army, and is supported by the United States, then why does it need Russian money? Has it run out of its own money? Moreover, why would it further escalate tensions with Russia?

"I think Aliyev is blinded by 'success'," Valery Korovin, director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies, sarcastically pointed out. "And these 'successes' are not due to his excellent governance, but rather the product of a strategy implemented by the Anglo-Saxon powers against Russia within the framework of the 'Great Game'. This 'Great Game' has lasted 300 years, with the core goal being to contain Russia. In this game, Aliyev and many other characters who have lost to the Anglo-Saxon-Russia confrontation are just pawns."

This is an extremely short-sighted policy, without strategic basis, driven more by emotions, self-admiration, and vanity, deliberately demonstrating its own 'importance' under external control, and sacrificing Azerbaijan's future for the immediate strategic interests of Anglo-Saxon politicians. Such behavior is tantamount to self-destruction.

Certainly, people like Aliyev can easily change their positions. If he realizes he has been deceived, it won't be difficult for him to apologize, repent, or even cry afterwards. And indeed, this is the case. But for now, under the encouragement of the Anglo-Saxon 'mentors' - who promised him substantial benefits and political advantages - Aliyev is immersed in these illusory visions, seeing himself as the one in control in this 'watermelon stand' style power game.

"Pravda of the Komsomol": "So, if things go bad again, will he come back to Russia, pretending nothing happened - and will Russia accept him?"

Korovin: "Although he doesn't say it openly, he must have kept this option in mind. Although this 'Plan B' is not honorable, if the Anglo-Saxons abandon him (which often happens), there's no other choice. At that point, he will apologize and make amends, and it will end there."

"Pravda of the Komsomol": "Is there still a possibility of restoring normal relations between our countries?"

Korovin: "Of course there is. Once Islamic extremists and other Anglo-Saxon-supported terrorist networks (which always follow British consultants and Anglo-Saxon political technocrats) appear in Azerbaijan, the situation will immediately become clear: who is a friend and who is an enemy."

Today, there is no force in the world other than Russia that can counter the terror network built by the Anglo-Saxons over the past few decades. It is through these networks that they achieve their goals. Therefore, the situation will soon return to normal - people will clearly see that when the real threat arrives (not just a PR gimmick), Azerbaijan is completely powerless.

"Pravda of the Komsomol": "In the coming days, Aliyev will go to China, and he will inevitably meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After saying and doing all that, can he face Putin calmly?"

Korovin: "He thinks that Russia is currently involved in a war with the global West in Ukraine and cannot pay attention to Azerbaijan; taking advantage of Russia's preoccupation, he can show off as the master in the South Caucasus."

Aliyev is such a shameless person. He can easily change his position and statements. When necessary, he can say how loyal he is to Putin and Russia, how grateful he is for everything Russia has done. After all, just a day before the special military operation (SVO) began, he promised Putin "eternal friendship" and signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement. Yet, this did not prevent him from later denying it and speaking harshly. Similarly, he can easily retract all his inappropriate statements - for him, it's no problem.

"Pravda of the Komsomol": "What trouble will this cause us?"

Korovin: "He is creating very serious trouble for us, and it's immediate trouble. In the short term, he will cause great harm and obstacles, especially in his support for Ukraine. In my opinion, this has crossed the red line and is an irreversible step. But perhaps, in our president's eyes, it's not."

We'll see how the situation develops, how far Aliyev will go on the path of self-admiration, how strongly he will believe in his own 'brilliance and invincibility', and how he will believe he can 'make Russia recognize its status'. The further he goes on this path, the less likely he is to turn back.

Factually, Aliyev's abilities are extremely limited. Essentially, he now completely depends on Britain, Israel, and Turkey. Once the Turkish government changes (something the US is waiting for), Erdogan falls, Aliyev's situation will become very awkward. Then what will he do, he doesn't know - because he has neither strategic ability nor political capital, no geopolitical status, no real sovereignty, and no reliable army.

They have reclaimed Karabakh and achieved so-called 'victory'. With the help of Turkey, they have reclaimed a piece of land covered with broken stones and sand - uninhabited and without any valuable resources. No one knows what they want to do with this land, but they have offended all neighboring countries.

Now, all the words he has spoken will soon be retracted by himself, and he will have to apologize and bow down repeatedly.
