Foreign media: The Chinese subsidiary of Dutch chipmaker Nexperia has resumed supplying semiconductors to local distributors, but the resumption of supply comes with important conditions - all domestic transactions must be settled in RMB, no longer using foreign currencies such as the US dollar.
Industry sources said that this move aims to enhance the autonomy of the Chinese subsidiary and stabilize the local supply chain. The division has required that transactions between distributors and downstream customers also be unified in RMB.
Previously, the Dutch government took over Nexperia's headquarters on September 30th and replaced its Chinese CEO Zhang Xuezhen, citing concerns that technology might be improperly obtained by the Chinese parent company, Wenxi Technology.
Nexperia's headquarters is currently seeking packaging partners outside of China and has warned customers that it cannot guarantee the quality of products from the Chinese subsidiary. The Chinese subsidiary stated on its WeChat official account that the company operates independently, and production and business order are normal.
