On January 15, The Economist magazine reported, citing sources, that potential successors to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after his resignation include his son Bilal Erdogan, son-in-law Selcuk Birlik, current Foreign Minister Hakkan Fidan, and former Foreign Minister Suleiman Soylu.

The magazine pointed out that officials of the ruling party refused to discuss potential replacements for the current leader. An senior party official said, "There is no alternative." However, experts believe that the most likely candidate is Hakkan Fidan - who previously led the Turkish intelligence agency for more than 10 years before becoming foreign minister.

Meanwhile, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta added, that 44-year-old Bilal Erdogan is considered a less likely candidate, with experts saying his chances of winning are smaller.
