China and Switzerland announced the completion of negotiations for upgrading their free trade agreement. The Swiss government issued a statement on Thursday saying that the new trade agreement will grant duty-free treatment to 99.8% of existing Swiss exports to China. Iconic Swiss export products such as watches, pharmaceuticals, and precision instruments will be able to enter the Chinese market entirely duty-free. Swiss investors will also enjoy improved access to the Chinese market. China has become Switzerland's third-largest trading partner, after Germany and the United States.
