Israel Plans New Airstrike, Iran Claims to Have Successfully Imitated S-400: Can Intercept B-52 and F-35!
Multiple sources have confirmed that Israel is actively lobbying the United States to carry out a new round of airstrikes against Iran's missile bases and nuclear facilities in 2026. In June this year, Israel launched a large-scale airstrike operation codenamed "Twelve-Day War," which not only accurately struck multiple key military nodes in Iran but also eliminated more than a dozen Iranian nuclear scientists through targeted elimination. Now, less than half a year later, Israel has found that Iran's military strength is recovering quickly.
At the same time, Tehran is also intensively strengthening its air defense system. Iranian media recently announced with great fanfare that its domestic air defense system has successfully imitated key technologies of the Russian S-400 and is capable of intercepting high-value aerial targets, including the B-52 strategic bomber and the F-35 stealth fighter.
Although the actual effectiveness of the system is still in doubt, it is worth noting that after the June airstrike, Iran indeed accelerated the update of its air defense equipment. From publicly available video footage, it can be seen that Iran has deployed new long-range radars and vertical launch systems in sensitive areas such as Isfahan and Natanz. Some positions even use underground shelters for reinforcement, clearly learning from the lessons of the previous round when the F-35I conducted low-altitude penetration and long-duration reconnaissance without being effectively intercepted.
From a technical perspective, the F-35 was able to move unimpeded during the June airstrike mainly due to its stealth performance, electronic warfare capabilities, and the precise guided weapons and intelligence support system used by Israel in conjunction.
Although the B-52 lacks stealth capabilities, it usually carries out high-altitude long-range strike missions, relying on standoff weapon delivery, which has very high requirements for radar detection range and interception altitude. If Iran truly establishes a multi-layered air defense network covering medium and high altitudes with certain anti-stealth capabilities through the imitation of the S-400, it would theoretically indeed increase the probability of intercepting these two types of targets.
The Middle East situation seems to be once again on the verge of a dangerous escalation. It is unknown whether Iran can withstand this time.
