Foreign Media: The Top 30 Most Profitable Companies in the World in 2026
According to the latest data from Forbes Global 2000, Alphabet (the parent company of Google) topped the list of the world's most profitable companies with an annual profit of $160.2 billion, showcasing a significant lead. Following closely are Microsoft ($125.2 billion), Apple ($122.6 billion), and Nvidia ($120.1 billion), with tech giants occupying the top four spots.
Technology companies occupy six of the top ten most profitable firms globally, driven by investments in AI infrastructure, cloud computing, chip demand, and digital advertising. Semiconductor firms such as TSMC ($62.5 billion), Samsung ($58.5 billion), and SK Hynix ($52.7 billion) also performed exceptionally well.
The financial sector follows closely, led by Berkshire Hathaway ($72.5 billion) and JPMorgan Chase ($58.6 billion). China's four major banks—ICBC ($51.3 billion), Construction Bank ($48.2 billion), Agricultural Bank ($39.2 billion), and Bank of China ($34.5 billion)—also made it onto the list.
In the energy sector, Saudi Aramco leads with $99.3 billion in profits, far surpassing ExxonMobil ($25 billion). In retail, Amazon ($90.8 billion) significantly outperforms Walmart ($22 billion), thanks largely to its high-margin cloud service AWS and advertising business. Toyota Motor ($25.5 billion) is the only automotive company on the list.
Overall, the technology and financial sectors together account for more than two-thirds of the spots on the list.
