With less than two hours remaining until the deadline to destroy "civilization as a whole," Trump agrees to a two-week ceasefire with Iran.
Iran claims a major victory!
U.S. military operations inside Iran have been suspended.
Israel does not want a truce, but dares not disobey.
CNN reported on the evening of April 7.
President Donald Trump stated Tuesday that he has agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran—less than two hours before his self-imposed 8 p.m. deadline to destroy "civilization as a whole."
The ceasefire agreement was reached on the condition that Iran reopens the vital Strait of Hormuz.
"Based on discussions with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir, who requested I delay tonight’s devastating force heading toward Iran, provided that the Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to fully, immediately, and safely reopen the Strait of Hormuz, I have agreed to suspend bombing and attacks against Iran for two weeks. This will be a bilateral ceasefire!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
A U.S. official confirmed that military strikes within Iran have been paused.
Sources say Israeli officials are concerned about the U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement.
Israel will abide by the ceasefire, following the leadership of President Donald Trump.
But Israel is doing so reluctantly: Israel still has more targets on its list, and hopes to achieve further objectives through military action in Iran.
When questioned by CNN, Netanyahu acknowledged Trump is a "leader" and also "his ally." "Ultimately, the President of the United States will make his own decision—I respect it? Yes, I do."
Meanwhile, Iran claims a major victory and says it has forced the U.S. to accept its 10-point plan.
The committee states that, as part of the plan, the U.S. has, in principle, agreed to lift all Level 1 and Level 2 sanctions against Iran.
According to the committee, it has also agreed to accept Iran’s nuclear enrichment activities and recognize Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz.
"The enemy suffered an undeniable, historic, and devastating defeat in its unjust, illegal, and wicked war against the Iranian nation," the statement read.
