The chief Iranian negotiator for U.S.-Iran talks and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Tehran secures concessions not through negotiations, but through missiles.
Ghalibaf wrote on the social platform X: "First, we secure concessions not through negotiations, but through missiles—we merely clarify this during talks. Second, we have no trust in any guarantees or words; actions are the true measure. We will take no reciprocal measures until the other side takes action. Third, the winner of any agreement is always the party better prepared for war the next day."
The politician explained in his Telegram channel that this was his commentary on the U.S.-Iran negotiation process.

According to Iran’s Presidential Press Office, President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered increased imports of goods from neighboring countries including Russia.
Earlier reports from Tasnim News Agency indicated that Iran is expanding its imports via the Caspian Sea as an alternative supply route in case of U.S. maritime blockades. Additionally, the Iranian government previously instructed increased border trade to offset the impact of such blockades.
The Presidential Press Office stated: "The President has ordered strengthening the use of alternative import routes and maximizing the potential of neighboring countries to maintain market stability and prevent sharp price increases."
Moreover, Pezeshkian emphasized the need to fully utilize Iran’s ports along the Caspian Sea, develop other trade corridors, and leverage the capabilities of countries such as Pakistan, Russia, and Azerbaijan to ensure Iran can import essential goods.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said on May 29 that the U.S. and Iran are actively discussing several phrasings in the draft agreement, and significant progress has been made in the negotiations.
The United States and Israel began striking targets inside Iran on February 28. Iran responded with retaliatory strikes against Israeli and U.S. military bases in Gulf states. Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire on April 8. Under mediation by Pakistan, both sides are now working toward a comprehensive memorandum to fully end the conflict.
