An American Navy MQ-4C "Poseidon" reconnaissance drone conducted a seemingly four-hour surveillance mission over the Strait of Hormuz, which remains under Iranian blockade.
However, during its return journey, the U.S. Navy MQ-4C "Poseidon" reconnaissance drone, previously patrolling the Strait of Hormuz, suddenly turned toward Iran, transmitted a 7700 code (universal emergency code), and began descending. Its ADS-B signal disappeared once it descended below 10,000 feet.
The current status of the drone—whether it was affected by electronic interference, suffered a technical malfunction, or was shot down by an Iranian air defense system—remains unclear.
