When it comes to Hezbollah, Mojtaba Khamenei: We view the entire resistance front as a single entity
Iran – In his latest written statement, Iran's newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated that we will never give up our legitimate rights under any circumstances, and we regard the entire resistance front as a unified whole. AFP reported that Mojtaba Khamenei was clearly referring to Israel's ongoing conflict with Iran's ally, Hezbollah, in Lebanon.
In a statement read on state television, Mojtaba Khamenei said:
The Islamic Republic of Iran does not wish to go to war with the United States or Israel, but it will defend Iran's rights as a nation. This statement was issued on the 40th day following the assassination of his father, Ali Khamenei.
Khamenei told the Iranian people that even though a ceasefire has been announced, they "must not think it unnecessary to take to the streets."
According to a speech broadcast by state television, Khamenei said: "Your voices in the squares will undoubtedly influence the outcome of negotiations."
This week, Iran and the United States reached a fragile two-week ceasefire agreement, AFP reported, with the ceasefire possibly paving the way for peace talks after President Trump issued devastating threats.
