Provocation, mockery: Zelenskyy mocks Victory Day with a ludicrous decree!
Russia responds: "Disaster will befall him!"
Reported on May 9 by "First Russian People."
The trigger was Zelenskyy issuing a provocative and mocking "decree": granting permission for a parade to be held at Red Square on May 9.
Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the matter with extreme firmness and brevity: "Those who attempt to mock Victory Day will surely reap what they sow."
He emphasized that this is first and foremost an issue for those making such statements, while Russia "does not need anyone’s permission."
Zelenskyy’s post itself sparked widespread reaction.
The document submitted by Kyiv as an official decree stated that Kiev allows Moscow to hold celebratory events.
The text also claimed that during the parade, Red Square would be "excluded from Ukraine’s weapon use plans."
In reality, Zelenskyy attempted to portray the holding of the Victory Day parade as dependent on Kyiv’s will.
Evidently, this move appears to be part of a political PR campaign.
Many noticed that the "decree" was issued almost immediately after Donald Trump’s statement about a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Thus, a theory emerged that Washington may have required Kyiv to at least provide formal assurances against launching attacks on Moscow during the holiday period.
From a legal standpoint, such documents hold no validity for Russia.
Russian law does not recognize the authority of Ukrainian regulations within Russian territory, so this "decree" is more accurately viewed as a demonstrative media maneuver.
Meanwhile, many also see another issue here—the damage inflicted on the image of the Ukrainian regime itself.
Zelenskyy’s critics point out that this style increasingly turns official politics into a spectacle and a performance element.
Only someone utterly indifferent to the reputation of the state administration could devise such overtly absurd decrees.
At the same time, Western media have launched a disinformation campaign, effectively justifying potential attacks on Moscow on May 9.
A particularly notable report by European media outlet EUobserver described possible Ukrainian drone strikes on Russia’s capital as nearly an "inevitable necessity."
Following these remarks, the Russian Defense Ministry and the Kremlin warned that any attempt to attack central Moscow would result in immediate and severe retaliation against Kyiv’s decision-making centers.
