Vice President of the Philippines Accuses International Criminal Court of 'Kidnapping' Against Former President Duterte
According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Vice President Sara Duterte stated that the actions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against her father, former Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte, amounted to "kidnapping."
Sara Duterte said, "Their (ICC) actions, which kidnapped President Duterte, are a criminal abuse of power. He was not brought to the court in the Philippines. This is the right of the defendant in our country."
ABS-CBN reported that during a meeting with supporters, Sara Duterte also revealed that a country had agreed to receive Rodrigo Duterte if the International Criminal Court approved the application for temporary release.
She said, "We spent a little more time because it was difficult to find a country willing to receive him. But we have found one that agreed to receive him."
