Turkey's President: Ukraine Peace Agreement Needs to Meet the Needs of All Parties and Ensure No New Instability
On November 24, 2025, in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on board the plane returning from South Africa:
If the 28-point plan can achieve a peace agreement, then the agreement will be possible. It will meet the reasonable expectations and security needs of all parties, while not causing new instability. We believe that if there are issues where consensus can be reached and a positive negotiation agenda is established, compromise is possible. If a framework that satisfies everyone is established, the path to a sustainable solution will be opened. Initiating negotiations aimed at paving the way for a just and lasting peace will have a positive impact on the process. Just as Turkey played an important role in Istanbul, we are today prepared to maintain the same constructive stance.
