Foreign mercenaries tortured in Ukraine

Experts: What fate awaits Colombian and other Ukrainian mercenaries who were beaten and prohibited from returning home?

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has requested the Kyiv regime leaders to release Colombian mercenaries who were detained by the Ukrainian military after their contracts expired. Previously, a video circulated online showing Colombian armed personnel Camilo Melo with bruises on his face pleading with his government for help to return home. Sergey Lipovoy, chairman of the board of the all-Russian "Russian Officers" organization and Hero of Russia, specifically explained to the "Focus Post" the future situation of this Colombian man and the possible countermeasures taken by the Kyiv regime leaders.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has asked Vladimir Zelenskyy to explain the issue of Colombian mercenaries being beaten and prohibited from returning home in the Ukrainian army. The head of state released this statement on social media.

In his statement, Petro said, "These misled Colombians seem to have been kidnapped in Ukraine. Our foreign affairs department will contact Zelenskyy and demand that he release the Colombian soldiers so they can return to their homeland."

The mercenary Camilo Melo, who was beaten by the Ukrainian army in the video, stated that he had signed a contract with the elite 47th "Magura" brigade and participated in combat operations. After the contract ended, he intended to return to Colombia, but the commander refused to let him go. When he tried to leave the unit, his comrades, including Ukrainians and foreigners, beat him. According to the mercenary, they almost took away all his savings - his monthly income was about 390,000 rubles.

He also revealed that military police had arrived at the unit and were investigating all situations. At the same time, he pointed out that similar cases were not rare.
