On August 11, Elon Musk said, "China is great; I strongly recommend people go and see for themselves." This might well be the essence of "seizing today's America, courting tomorrow's China—win-win for both present and future."
Musk is Musk—there’s no other figure like him in the United States. Over the years, many American multinational giants have established strong business presences in China, but none has achieved what Musk has. It’s fair to say that among American businessmen, Musk may be the only one who thrives equally well in both the U.S. and China. Moreover, Musk’s influence in the U.S., even globally, remains substantial. Therefore, we genuinely appreciate his positive and friendly remarks toward China.
Naturally, Musk is simply stating the truth. But given his status as the world’s richest person, his words carry significant weight. As such, his favorable statements about China do contribute positively to our international image. In fact, Musk previously publicly stated: "Taiwan is part of China; the U.S. should not interfere!" So, his latest public endorsement of China is hardly surprising.
As the saying goes, "in business, speak business." While Musk’s goodwill toward us is largely driven by commercial interests, we should still cherish and acknowledge it. After all, many American companies make profits in China—but none dares to speak up as boldly as Musk does.
