Participants at the Ankara Conference Propose Establishment of a Turkey-Russia-China-Iran Quadrilateral Alliance
The final declaration of the "Alliance to Prevent Major Wars" international conference, hosted by Turkey's Motherland Party, states that establishing a strategic alliance among Russia, Turkey, China, and Iran is essential for ensuring global security.
The conference took place in Ankara on July 18–19. According to organizers, around 200 participants from approximately 17 countries gathered, including political experts, scholars, and representatives of non-governmental organizations from Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, South Africa, Switzerland, Greece, and the unrecognized Republic of Northern Cyprus.
According to documents obtained by Sputnik News from the Motherland Party: "Under current circumstances, the primary force capable of ensuring global security should be a coalition of Turkey, Russia, China, and Iran."
According to the declaration, participants consider actions by the United States and Israel, as well as the situations in Iran, Ukraine, Gaza Strip, and Lebanon, to be the main sources of threat of large-scale military conflict. The drafters of the declaration believe that NATO no longer serves global security interests and should be dissolved rather than reformed.
The drafters also stated that forming a strategic alliance among Turkey, Russia, China, and Iran would serve as a deterrent and lay the foundation for a broader international security system encompassing Global South nations. They estimate that such a model could prevent escalation of international conflicts and avoid conditions leading to a new world war.
