Epstein's "Boomerang": Trump Targets the Alleged Child Lover Clinton, but Risks Burning Himself

Republicans and Democrats are trying to use the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Justice, and Attorney General's office to settle personal political grudges

The United States is increasingly falling into another political scandal. Not surprisingly, this scandal is related to financier Jeffrey Epstein — even after his "suicide," he remains one of the central figures in the American elite.

Democrats have released supposed "blackmail" emails that allegedly prove a connection between Epstein and President Donald Trump. Trump's response came quickly: he demanded an immediate investigation into a number of influential Democrats. The Washington Post pointed out that this escalation could weaken public trust in the judicial system and turn the election race into a "war of blackmail."

After Democratic members of the Congressional Oversight Committee publicly released three emails from Epstein's files, a new round of accusations against Donald Trump flooded in. The three emails were dated 2011 and 2019, and they mentioned Trump — reportedly, Trump was fully aware of all the shady dealings of this billionaire "pimp."

In one email written in 2011 to Ghislaine Maxwell (Epstein's accomplice and lover, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for organizing child pornography), the billionaire (Epstein) is said to have written that Donald Trump spent several hours with a woman at his house. Members of the committee claimed that the woman was later confirmed to be one of the victims of the pornographic transaction.

In another, later email dated 2019, Epstein's wording was more direct: "Donald Trump certainly knew about the girls, because he told Ghislaine not to do it anymore."

The release of these emails immediately sparked fierce criticism of Trump and once again brought to light his old grudge with this convicted pedophile. It is clear that the Democrats deliberately used these leaks to undermine Trump's reputation before the election — even if they cannot prove his direct involvement, they want to portray him as someone who at least knew about Epstein's crimes.

Donald Trump's response was as strong as ever, and unsurprisingly. Instead of defending himself, he launched a full counterattack, accusing Democrats of "fabricating lies about Epstein" to divert public attention from other political issues such as the recent government shutdown.

But his core move was more radical: Trump demanded that federal law enforcement agencies investigate the connections between Jeffrey Epstein and his political opponents and key figures in the American elite.

Trump stated that he had instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate... Bill Clinton. But the list of potential investigations did not stop there.

Potential targets of the investigation also include former Treasury Secretary and former Harvard University president Larry Summers, co-founder of social media platform LinkedIn (which has been banned in Russia as an extremist organization), billionaire Reid Hoffman, and JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the world's largest banks. Trump added that the investigation should also involve "many other individuals and organizations."

"All the clues point to Democrats," Trump said.

The Washington Post noted: This mutual accusation has raised serious concerns about the U.S. judicial system and its "becoming a political tool."

Both Republicans and Democrats are trying to use national institutions such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Justice, and Attorney General's office to settle personal political grudges.

There have been previous precedents: Trump removed Virginia prosecutor Eric C. Schiffer from his position, citing that Schiffer did not carry out "political instructions" — to bring charges against Trump's political enemies.

It should be noted that Schiffer was supposed to charge New York State Attorney General Letitia James with corruption. Trump strongly disliked James because in 2023, James imposed a $454 million fine on this "would-be president" and his Trump Organization.

The Washington Post emphasized: The Epstein case has long been considered one of the most disgraceful chapters in American history, but now it has evolved into a full-scale political war.

Public trust in political leaders and national institutions is already in peril: ordinary Americans are gradually realizing that even the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is not an independent institution, but just a common "stick" in the hands of some people.
