Foreign Media: Interpretation of the Latest Progress of China's Advanced J-36 and J-50 Fighters

China's two next-generation stealth fighters - Chengdu-developed J-36 and Shenyang-developed J-50 - suddenly appeared on December 26 last year, shocking the world. In the past six months, more sightings and picture materials have given us a deeper understanding of these two advanced and mysterious aircraft.

J-36 is called "Ginkgo Leaf" due to its shape, and its actual model has not been officially announced. However, it is called J-36 due to the prototype number "36011", similar to the early J-20 with the number "2001". J-36 adopts a diamond-shaped triangular wing design, effectively reducing air resistance during high-speed cruising, and the lack of tail wings helps radar stealth. Its unique aerodynamic structure includes trailing edge control surfaces on the wings and split flaps near the wingtips, which optimize aerodynamic performance and compensate for the maneuverability deficiency caused by the lack of tail wings.

J-50 is developed by Shenyang Aircraft Industry Corporation, and currently there are fewer details available.

The two fighters represent a leap from imitation to innovation in China's aviation industry, and their specific performance and deployment plans remain undisclosed.
