On June 10, after President Lee Jae-myung talked with US President Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the highest leaders of China and South Korea had a phone conversation today. In this conversation, there were two sentences from China that clearly had hidden meanings, and South Korea probably understood them. The first was that China expressed its willingness to jointly uphold multilateralism and free trade, ensuring the stability and smoothness of global and regional industrial and supply chains.

The second was that China expressed its hope to respect each other's core interests and major concerns, keep the direction of bilateral relations steady, and ensure that Sino-South Korean relations always develop along the right track. Clearly, in the first issue, our attitude is obviously targeted at the trade war. That is to say, we hope that South Korea will stand on the right side when the United States launches a trade war, not cooperate with the U.S. in any technological blockade, and not reach agreements with the U.S. at the expense of China's interests.

In the second issue, it is clearly targeted at the Taiwan issue and the South China Sea issue. To be honest, the previous Yoon Suk-yeol government's actions on the Taiwan issue and the South China Sea issue have seriously harmed Sino-South Korean relations. As opponents of Yoon Suk-yeol, we understand Lee Jae-myung's position. Before the election, Lee Jae-myung has made statements, and now after taking office, we naturally expect South Korea to correct Yoon Suk-yeol's mistakes and do the right thing, do things beneficial to Sino-South Korean relations.

Lee Jae-myung said that he attaches great importance to the Sino-South Korean relationship and is willing to work together with China to promote the in-depth development of friendly neighborly relations between the two countries, improve and enhance the feelings between the people of the two countries, and achieve more results in Sino-South Korean cooperation. We also naturally expect more cooperation between China and South Korea, but we also notice that the influence of the U.S.-South Korean alliance relationship on South Korea's attitude is not small, and the United States also intends to mediate between the U.S., Japan, and South Korea against us. We believe that after the conversation, South Korea will certainly balance various relationships well.
