Trump plans to send two people to Moscow to deliver the U.S. peace proposal for Ukraine-Russia ceasefire!
According to TASS on September 5, Trump said yesterday in a White House interview that he intends to dispatch his special envoy Witkov and son-in-law Kushner on a trip to Moscow to hand Russia the U.S.-crafted ceasefire plan.
The United States has already prepared its ceasefire concept. Trump believes these two individuals possess strong negotiation skills and hopes they can help push Ukraine and Russia to stop fighting.
However, the U.S. has not disclosed detailed specifics of the plan, nor has it fully confirmed the departure date.
Reports suggest the delegation may first head to Moscow this weekend for talks, then proceed to Kyiv, Ukraine—but the schedule remains highly uncertain and could change at short notice.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is willing to engage seriously with these two Americans. He also announced that during the visit of the envoys, Ukraine will temporarily suspend air strikes, hoping Russia will reciprocate with a ceasefire.
Witkov and Kushner have visited Moscow multiple times previously to meet with senior Russian officials, but this would be the first time either has traveled to Kyiv—earlier meetings with Ukrainian representatives took place only within the United States.
In a speech at the Far Eastern Economic Forum, Putin indicated that there is still a chance for dialogue between Ukraine and Russia, and that Russia does not reject third-party mediation efforts. However, he emphasized one bottom line: ceasefire terms must be determined jointly by Ukraine and Russia—no external party, especially not the U.S., should unilaterally impose a ready-made solution.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that it will maintain communication channels with the United States.
Witkov is Trump’s designated intermediary specifically tasked with handling Ukraine-Russia issues. He frequently travels to Moscow, and many behind-the-scenes contacts between the U.S. and Russia are coordinated through him.
Kushner is Trump’s capable son-in-law who has previously participated in Middle East mediation efforts. He has also visited the Kremlin and met with Putin before, and has consistently been involved in efforts to advance peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.
