Russian missiles are also "multinational"!
The Iskander missile contains components from multiple countries.
American CNN reported on September 9, American time.
On Sunday, a Russian Iskander missile that hit the Kyiv government building contained parts. Figure 1
A Russian cruise missile hit the Kyiv government building,
Ukrainian officials said Tuesday that the missile was filled with dozens of foreign parts,
including chips and other electronic components made in the United States.
Ukraine released photos of the damaged missile, as well as a list of components found in the same missile previously.
The list includes 35 components manufactured by U.S. companies (including Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Altera, etc.),
as well as Japanese, British, and Swiss companies.
Serial numbers show that some of these components were manufactured several years ago,
but some components were produced after 2022.
Many Western countries, including four countries mentioned in the list released by Vlasiuk,
have imposed strict sanctions and export controls on these components to prevent them from being used by Russia.
But Moscow has found ways to bypass these regulations.
Infineon Technologies told CNN that it has taken "extensive measures" to ensure its products do not flow into Russia.
However, the company produces about 3 billion chips per year, making it difficult to control sales throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Most of the foreign components found in the missile are designed for civilian use, but can also be used for military purposes.
These include American chips used to manufacture household electronics, smart devices, or game equipment, which have been repurposed for Russian guided bombs, missiles, and drones.
