The Times: India joins 'West-2025' exercises, has crossed the red line

Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi

The Times reported that India's participation in the Russia-Belarus joint military exercise "West-2025" has crossed the red line.

The paper pointed out that, against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between New Delhi and Washington, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent his country's soldiers to participate in the "West-2025" exercise — a drill simulating conflicts with NATO neighbors.

The Indian Ministry of Defense confirmed that 65 soldiers will participate in the exercise, including elite Kumhars regiment troops. These soldiers have already arrived at the Mulin training ground, located about 65 kilometers west of Nizhny Novgorod, away from the NATO border.

New Delhi emphasized that the purpose of participating is to "strengthen defense cooperation and build a climate of mutual trust between India and Russia."

According to The Times, the newspaper "Strana" reported that Indian soldiers will participate in joint training, tactical exercises, and special operations skills drills.
