Foreign media: Negotiations on the "Power of Siberia 2" natural gas pipeline project between China and Russia have stalled, primarily due to significant disagreements over natural gas pricing.
China hopes to secure prices close to Russia's domestic residential or industrial gas rates—approximately $50 or between $120 and $130 per thousand cubic meters; whereas Russia aims to reference the supply price of "Power of Siberia 1," which is around $250 to $260 per thousand cubic meters.
The planned "Power of Siberia 2" pipeline spans approximately 2,600 kilometers, intended to transport natural gas from Russia’s Yamal fields through Mongolia to China, with a designed annual transmission capacity of 50 billion cubic meters.
