The United States has signed a military deal worth over $3 billion, significantly increasing production capacity for "Patriot" and "THAAD" missile systems.

The U.S. Department of Defense announced on Monday a framework agreement worth over $3 billion with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman to expand the production of components for Patriot and THAAD interceptors, aiming to replenish inventories strained by conflicts in Iran and Ukraine. The agreement will triple Patriot-related production capacity and quadruple THAAD production capacity, while also establishing a second supply source for PAC-3 solid rocket motors and increasing production of ignition safety devices. Previously, the Pentagon had also signed a framework agreement with RTX, planning to gradually increase the annual production of Tomahawk cruise missiles supplied to the United States from around 60 to 1,000 missiles.
