Notice of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods from the United States

On April 2, 2025, the U.S. government announced that it would impose "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese goods exported to the United States. The U.S. approach does not conform to international trade rules, seriously infringing upon China's legitimate and proper rights and interests, and is a typical case of unilateral bullying.

According to the "Tariff Law of the People's Republic of China," the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China," the "Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China," and the basic principles of international law, after approval by the State Council, starting from 12:01 on April 10, 2025, additional tariffs will be imposed on imported goods from the United States. The relevant matters are as follows:

First, an additional 34% tariff will be imposed on all imported goods from the United States on top of the current applicable tariff rates.

Second, the current bonded, tax-exempt, and tax-reduction policies remain unchanged, and the additional tariffs imposed this time will not be exempted.

Third, goods that have been shipped from their point of origin before 12:01 on April 10, 2025, and imported between 12:01 on April 10, 2025, and 24:00 on May 13, 2025, will not be subject to the additional tariffs specified in this notice.
