The newspaper "Kommersant" cited the view of partner of SBS Consulting, Dmitry Babansky, that high interest rates in 2025 have suppressed investment activities of engineering machinery companies and buyers, and combined with Chinese equipment competition under the backdrop of a strong ruble, jointly impacted sales. Experts pointed out that import equipment sales also declined, but to a lesser extent, with some categories attracting demand due to better cost-performance and performance.
Research by Sherpa Group shows that the growth rate of construction projects in Russia in 2025 is only 2.5% (total value of 1.88 trillion rubles), the lowest level since the pandemic.
