Russia is feeling the pressure.
According to TASS on May 18, Russian air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed at least 3,124 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory in the past week.
After the European Union approved a 90-billion-euro loan aid package for Ukraine, EU member states can use this funding to sell weapons to Ukraine or jointly produce military equipment, leading to a significant increase in the number of Ukrainian drones. Currently, Ukraine can launch up to 500 drones per day toward Russian territory. Although Russia's air defense systems can intercept most of these drones, the cost is high, and the systems are overwhelmed. Drones are becoming a key weapon that could shift the balance of power in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Despite its superior military strength, Russia struggles to effectively counter the drone attacks due to its vast territory, placing immense pressure on the Russian military.
