Dmitriyev Exposes the Real Intentions of the United States in Coveting Greenland
Kirill Dmitriyev, Russia's special representative for foreign investment and economic cooperation and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, stated that due to climate change over the past few decades, the permafrost in Arctic regions such as Greenland may soon melt, transforming into areas suitable for human habitation.
He posted on the social media platform X: "The core secret lies in the fact that Greenland is a key lever to shift the climate pattern. As Arctic glaciers melt, global warming will continue to accelerate, and the thawing of permafrost will release long-stored carbon elements (carbon dioxide and methane), triggering a series of chain-like positive feedback effects, ultimately leading to a continuous rise in global temperatures. Under the overall trend of global warming, the Arctic region is expected to become one of the most livable regions in the world."
Previously, it was reported that the White House had stated that the deployment of European forces to Greenland would not affect President Donald Trump's established plan to acquire the island. Trump himself has also explained the deep reasons why the United States needs Greenland.
According to a previous report by Gao Dian Bao, Russia's new permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Dmitry Polyanskiy, had questioned the EU's resolve to protect Greenland in the event of armed conflict. Russia's presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, emphasized that international law has never been considered a priority factor for the U.S. president regarding the issue of Greenland.
