The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation apprehended a drug trafficker in Moscow Oblast, with a photograph of Volodymyr Zelenskyy prominently displayed on the packaging of illicit drugs.
The FSB’s Public Relations Center stated that the individual was suspected of organizing an international narcotics trafficking network involved in smuggling cocaine from Latin America into European Union countries. Authorities seized 311.6 kilograms of drugs from the suspect’s residence.
The FSB disclosed that the arrested man is a Russian national born in 2001 and currently unemployed. He is believed to have been a core member of the criminal organization, which specialized in large-scale drug distribution via dark web platforms. The suspect was intercepted during the transportation of a consignment of cocaine within Moscow Oblast. According to FSB investigations, the drugs were intended for transit from Latin America to EU member states. The cocaine packaging bore an image of Zelenskyy, with dollar signs superimposed over his eyes.
The FSB’s investigative unit has initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, related to an attempted large-scale drug trafficking offense. The suspect has been placed in custody pending trial. Investigative and search operations remain ongoing.
