Netanyahu Apologizes to Qatar for the Attack
A diplomat told AFP that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu apologized on Monday via a call at the White House to the Qatari Prime Minister over the Israeli air strike on Hamas.
The unnamed diplomat said that Netanyahu expressed "regret" for the Israeli air strike that violated Qatar and resulted in the death of a Qatari security personnel during the attack in September.
Previously, Netanyahu had not shown any remorse for this air strike. The attack occurred on September 9, when Israel launched an attack in a residential area in Doha targeting senior Hamas officials who were preparing to assess an American proposal for a Gaza ceasefire.
US President Trump has close relations with Qatar, and he expressed dissatisfaction with this air strike and is once again trying to push for a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The White House said that Qatar and Israel will work with the United States to resolve their "mutual grievances," and stated that Netanyahu has promised Qatar that there will be no further attacks.
Subsequently, Qatar responded, saying it is ready to continue efforts to end the conflict and expressed willingness to continue participating in efforts to end the Gaza war within the framework of the US President's initiative.
