Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei recently accused on a social media platform:

"The United States and Israel launched a brutal attack on the 'Iranian Diplomatic Police Headquarters' in Tehran, an institution whose only duty is to protect foreign embassies and diplomatic missions in Iran."

This marks another addition to the troubling record of the United States actively undermining diplomacy.

This pattern has been evident when the United States and Iran were engaged in diplomatic negotiations, as it twice violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of United Nations member states, which is a deliberate denial of the most basic principles of international law and international civilization."

Diplomatic police, as the name suggests, are police responsible for protecting embassies and consulates of various countries in Iran, like the ones stationed at Sanlitun. Bombing their headquarters would result in the most serious consequence: no one would protect the diplomatic institutions of all countries in Iran.

How bad is this?

The United States and Israel have no embassies or consulates in Iran, and the U.S. embassy has long become a revolutionary education base for Iranians. The U.S. and Israel don't need protection from Iranian police, but other countries do.

For example, the Chinese Embassy, during these days of emergency evacuation, has used the embassy as the gathering and departure point, with all logistical preparations centered around the embassy. All work must be based on safety!

Except for a few rare cases such as the embassy in Iraq, where China provides its own armed police and weapons for security, in general embassies of ordinary countries, they usually do not have their own national police force, and rely entirely on the local country's forces.

By bombing like this, the United States and Israel are preventing the Iranian diplomatic police from doing their job, putting all embassies and consulates at risk of being violently looted after the collapse of social order. It's really despicable!
