According to Reuters on July 9, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala stated that, due to concerns over "data security," the Czech government has banned public administrative departments in the country from using any services provided by the Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek (Deep Seek Company).
Previously, several countries such as Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands had also taken similar restrictions on DeepSeek's products and services based on similar reasons.
Fiala announced this decision at a press conference and claimed that DeepSeek might allow the Chinese side to access data on its servers.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has repeatedly stated that the Chinese government highly values and legally protects data privacy and security, and has never required enterprises or individuals to collect or store data in illegal ways.
"China has always opposed the broadening of the concept of national security and the politicization of economic and trade and science and technology issues. At the same time, China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises," said Guo Jiakun.
