The global competition for AI talent is intensifying. After OpenAI and Meta vied to attract top AI talent, DeepSeek has started posting job listings on LinkedIn, possibly seeking to attract talent from overseas.
On Wednesday, the Hangzhou-based company posted 10 positions on LinkedIn, a job and social networking platform under Microsoft, within the past week, marking the first time the company has posted job listings on this platform in several months.
These positions include three focused on general artificial intelligence (AGI), with locations in Beijing and Hangzhou. All job descriptions were published in Chinese.

The recent job postings by DeepSeek on LinkedIn are significant. LinkedIn closed its localized version in China in 2021, meaning that potential job seekers browsing these listings are mostly located outside of China.
In contrast, similar positions were previously posted on popular Chinese job websites.
American AI companies are adopting various strategies to attract top talent. Some companies are cutting staff to free up funds for investments in data centers and other projects, while others offer high salaries to their best engineers, sometimes even poaching from competitors.
This talent battle reflects the intense competition in the AI industry for control over this world-changing technology. Companies are striving to build their own talent advantages to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving AI field.
