Philippine Vice President Re-Impeached After House Vote

The Philippine newspaper Inquirer reported that the Philippine House of Representatives has once again approved the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, forwarding the impeachment articles to the Senate for further deliberation.

The report stated: "According to the voting results, 255 lawmakers voted in favor of adopting the judicial committee's report, 26 opposed it, and 9 abstained."

Since February, the judicial committee has been reviewing multiple complaints against Duterte. The final report outlines four major allegations, including suspected misuse of confidential funds from the Vice Presidential Office and the Department of Education, unclear sources of wealth, alleged corrupt practices, and threats directed at President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., the First Lady, and former Speaker of the House.

Currently, the case materials have been handed over to the Senate, which will conduct a trial and decide whether to remove Duterte from office.
